In esf you get power level by fighting, right? Ok, that sucks in my opinion.
When did you see someone entering a fight as a weakling, and than burst into ssj, without any training before that? This is how i see it: A couple of already trained fighters decide to fight, and they raise their power level by, as in the show, powering up.
I'm not talking about charging ki, that's different, I'm talking about the powerlevel+transformations.
In the show transforming takes up ki, and they have to power up until they transform (most of the times, sometimes they just transform, i'll get to that later on)
So, i recommend switching the ascend and descend buttons with power-up and power-down. Powering up takes ki to do, and raises you pl. The higher your pl is, the more ki you spend in order to sustain it, and you get an aura if you're really powered up (let's say over 70% per tranformation).
After powering up to a certain level, you will transform, and will consume ki in order to sustain the form (only for certain characters like saiyans, frieza transformation is permanent, for example). This way, the game is more like the show, where characters, are already at their full potential when entering the fight, they just have to "show" it.
The higher your pl is, the more you will be visible on the radar, and vice-versa.
The more you are powered up, the faster and stronger you get as well, so it kinda replaces the turbo as well.
This would make all the character more balanced as well, turning it more into a fighting game than a fragging one, which dbz isn't.
I also suggest putting in a duel game mode, where this type of pl gaining would be really useful.
Crits please.
