Making a new thread for my latest stuff!

A random building that I started to work on a few weeks ago which is pretty much completed:

Here's what I'm currently working on now. Just making a bunch of random DBZ buildings. Not sure if I'm going to do anything with them, though:

Note: I will be making many more DBZ buildings with different shapes. This picture above is just a set I completed earlier today.

Also looks fantastic, you need to add ocean water to surround the city to make it look more detailed. Add a lil something to it, and please don't make the ocean too long. That would be a, mis-understanind.

Jason, he's modelling. Modelling only involves models, in this case, those buildings. The rest of the environment would come later on if this was made for a game.

So comment on the model itself, not on what the scene does or does not need.

Yes, I'm making this both for fun and to get better at modeling. I've been looking at the Polycount forums for the past couple of weeks and the stuff people make is really motivational. It makes me want to get more into modeling.

I probably am going to make the scenery and streets and everything, but before that I'm just making a bunch of buildings so I can just position them accordingly once I move on to the streets.

First attempt at normal mapping!

Not sure what happened with the corners, but overall I'm happy with the results! Went from 636 polies to 14.

Edit: Changed the picture to make a more fancy preview. Top is the high poly version, bottom is the low poly.

Thanks to the help from Denz and GG, I managed to get a proper looking render done. You can hardly see the normals, but I figured I should stop messing with them for now and continue making the buildings.

He was just playing man... You gotta learn a bit more English to really understand it. In due time you will see it.

That is what I like to see! Those are popping out perfect. They look like they would fit in 1.3 easily. I would like to see this on a night time map with street lights.

I don't think the issue here is language knowledge, apparently he is a native english speaker, the problem is deeper inside.

Ontopic:

Whatever you do Dam, don't stop, I eventually gave up on modelling and never got back to it, and I always wanted to make great 3D models.

...And now for some real normal mapping!

But before I post pics, I figured I'd let you all know that unfortunately, the city is on hold for now. I'm exploring a bunch of different techniques and creating multiple random things to get better at this kind of stuff.

Now that the boring stuff is out of the way, here's a pic of what I just recently did!

@Denz, stay on topic and stop bringing this zeq2 business to this forum.

@Damaera, nice work on the madel, but couldn't you finish your backgrounds labeling more details into it?

Much better if you'd do that.

Thanks for the kind replies, guys!

I decided to experiment with AO bakes a few mins ago. The following picture doesn't have any special render settings or lighting, the shadow is from the texture:

Results aren't really special, I simply just threw up a skylight, activated shadows, and then rendered to texture. Hoping to mess with this more!
