my friend has a question and is very lazy to make usernames but he wants to know if it matters wat version of half-life u use to play dis and if this is the wrong section very srry ppl just move it plz then

Tell your "friend" that it's not an issue because Steam updates all your games whenever it starts up, and you need Steam to play.

What do you mean what version,as in half life 1 or 2?You must use half life 1 and i dont think esf will run on half life source(i read somewhere).I think you can run it on counter-strike retail.Check the about section on the homepage,it should tell you everything.

half-life 1 he has a crack and doesnt like steam so he wants to know if theres a certain version he has to use he has the original version right now

yes as a matter of fact its called the paid version. tell your "friend" he can purchase the game at many retail stores for cheap.
