Have you tried running Firefox?
Does it actually work?

I dont think you'll get a virus if you uninstall it.
Scan the folder thrice. And then uninstall if you want to.

I still think he installed it himself without any memory of his actions. Really, which explanation is simpler: that he had some crazy "virus" that goes around his computer installing web browsers, or that he simply has a personality disorder? I mean come on... you all jump at the first complicated explanation you can find.

>_> I still don't see how you can GET a virus from deleting a program.

If this happened in the past, then you already had that virus. It might have just become active when you deleted the host program.

But yeah, you're probably better off using Firefox anyway. I do, I love it.

So you got a virus... by removing the program?

That's like whenever you uninstall windows on a PC, Apple sends you a free Mac.

I think.

So, did it give you a virus?

Correct! Firefox doesn't install itself. No virus goes around installing Firefox, while seemingly doing nothing else. I really doubt uninstalling a program will lead to a system meltdown because ... of a virus that came into creation because of the prior uninstallation.

Now, if anyone wants to make a virus that somehow installs Firefox on the 'infected' machine, be my guest :p. Until then, and because Gman is clean of any UTDs (uninstallationaly transmitted diseases), this thread is closed.
