Modeling Tutorials

Alright, Im about to engage into total noob mode here so bare with me. I have just downloaded 3D Studio Max 7.0. And as I opened it I found myself mesmorized by its large array of buttons, all of which I had no clue what they were used for o_o.

I tampered around a bit, I ended up making an green olive (Random, yes I know). Now for my question, can any of you help me out by posting a link to a few Character Modeling tutorial sites? Anything would help really, I searched google but it wasnt very helpful for what I was looking for.

www.3dpalace.com (dunno, cant say, dont have the codec..)
www.3dkingdom.net (has the famous joan of arc tuts and lots of great tips)

i always get the .net and .com of 3dpalace and kingdom confused...
