As the name of the thread states i need help with modleing. I pretty much dont know anything about modeling but im willing to learn. I bought 3ds max today since from wut i hear is its one of the better modeling programs. I tried Mad Ax's tutorial but i was having alot of problems figuring it out and i cant do Eclipses because i dont have lightwave.

So pretty much i just need help from anyone whos willing to help me. Maybe recommend me a good tutorial or walk me through it pretty much just anything to help me get started. Ive got alot ideas for esf that i kinda wanna get out there eventually. But if anyone can help me plz dont hesitate to contact me. Thx :)

if you accally BOUGHT max..then you better learn it!
here are some tutorials you'll wan to do
first, do this video tutorial....it's from poopinmymouth.com you might want to go there later for the other video tutorials, once yu learn the basics
http://www.poopinmymouth.com/tutorial/video/beginner.zip
once you've done that one, do this
http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/joanmenu.asp
That will teach you about how to do proper polygon flow for the head. it's better to learn it earli on, rather than later an then having to change the way you model.

ok...dont' start trying to do drawgonballz or anime models right away. it's much more important for you to be able to model normal stuff. study some anatomy books and pictures,...or porn ;) .

but before you even start doing characters. go a head and do a bunch of non organic models..such as weapons, just to get you used to the tools and modelling in general.

when you start modelling characters and stuff. dont' worry about polygon counts and weather you'll be able to get it into a game or not. just use as much geometry as you need.

and just model...alot, the model you model, the faster you will get at it. you'll find better ways to do stuff.
