You´ve ever dreamed about an own Final Fantasy character for an episode?
You wanted to show it of and wanted that everybody will love it!?

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!

Model your own Final Fantasy character and show it off to all people around here.

Rules:



- Make your own fantasy hero/villain/monkey/bird/elephant/what ever
just be sure that the character/animal is original.

- You have to tell us ,after you finished or when you start the model, to what part of the FF eps. it´s suposed to belong. ( like, FF7,FF8,FF9,FF7:AC,FF10, and on)

- Maximum count of polys is 2,1k (tris)

- you can use any texture and material things you need. (Alphamap, diffuse map, specular map, and on...)

-1 animator, 1 modler, 1 skinner and 1 concept artist are allowed to team up

Final Entry:




Your final entry must contain the following:

- A Final render of your characters

-Your Textures you´ve used

- The polycounter Box ( means: where you can see the polycount)

- Modelview: Front , Side, back, 3/4 (wire and flat)

bonus:

- Short Animation

- Several poses and renders of the model (not 5 renders of the one and the same pose please)

- your Concept you´ve drawn

Can't say it's a very appealing subject. Anyways, what i wanted to ask, can people team up? let's say, a modeler and a skinner?

Well I'm entering the contest at cgchat, and this one runs inside the time frame for the cgchat contest. I might give it a go, but not likely given my schedule.

After reading over this "contest" it doesn't seem to be all that thought out. You're supposed to create your own final fantasy style character, but it has to be from one of the games, Or Am I just not translating the "tryforce" english into regular english too well?

its supposed to be inspired from the games individual styles, no 2 FF games (with the exception of ffx and ffx2 had the same art style) but cannot be an actual character from the games.

i dont like the subject context, on the grounds that, although each game has an individual style, you cant really make a character for a particular game, and not have it look familiar. since each game had a story, a character made by me would have no place in the story.

it would be better to have a "make your own fantasy character" competition.

Heh, I'd gladly join. Problem is, I can't box model faces to save my life (except when I'm modelling edge extrusion way).

Does the character have to be human? I'm thinking of a GF (Guardian Force - FF8) to make.

Well, I can draw you guys a concept idea of my 7th grade comic guy, i'll scan it soonly, if more then 2 people want to use it, i'll only let the first person to announce they wanna use it, to actually use it. I'm not gonna draw a ref, thats up to you, just a concept

In Final Fantasy to the characters have a style to them sorta like dragonball z they have weird hairdos and stuff or are they more like ordinary people.
