With the number of mods out, it's a wonder that no-one has made a mod of the Nintendo series, Metroid. Most of you should know about the female bounty hunter, Samus Aran, raised by the Chozo as a warrior from the age of 2 when she was orphaned by the Space Pirates. At the age of 16, she was given a Chozo-made Power Suit and a Hunter Class Gunship. She left the Chozo, who had cared for her, trained and raised her, infused her with their blood, to help the Galactic Federation as a bounty hunter/mercenary (two part job, that'd pay pretty well). Since then, she has been the main threat to the Space Pirates, Metroids, and her newest enemy, the X parasite. If it was a multiplayer mod, like ESF, players could choose from various classes, Samus Aran with and w/o suit (some of you have seen her without her suit, right?), Space Pirates, the Omega Metroid from Metroid Fusion, Kraid, Ridley, various other enemies from the five games, etc. Each class with different weaponry and abilities. For example, Samus could have her Morph Ball function (don't know how you would code it), Space Pirates would have their wall crawling abilities, their laser cannons and pincers and so on and so forth.
