DL it if you cant wait to see it in the internet...
they say one picture worth 1000 words...
guess how many pictures are up there... lol

just to complete the suggestion - inorder for that cool splashing thing
to happen - you need to meelee the Enemy in spesific angle to the water
exactly like throwing a stone to the water and having the same effect
(I tried this idea b4 but no1 could understand me, now you CAN!)

maybe some1 kind enough can help me and find a nice
water splashing sound and link it here(or pm me...) that would be cool!

Doesn't that seem a little too much work (for the team and the player) just to get.. what was it again? Oh yeah.. NOTHING!!!

Eyecandy, and time-consuming candy at that.

Wouldnt help much, I suppose YOU could make a sprite that when your near the water, water dust would appear.

water particles do appear.. allthough I do wish that when someone landed in the water, it would splash. Not really needed though, there are bigger things to focus on.

Maybe if ESF ever ported over to half life 2, but otherwise definitely not. It would just be more work for something almost everyone would turn off because the Half Life 1 engine doesn't know how to handle that kind of thing without killing your framerate.

They should do it like when Goku fought Ginyu. Ginyu knocked Goku flying, Goku recovered over the water, an made a huge wall of water in the process, creating a tidal wave lol.....imagine the lag from that.....
But I like your idea Miki800, it would work quite nicely

maybe have it so that if you are thrown or whatever to the ground, you take impact dmg, but if you go over water at the right angle you skip across it and have a chance to recover

only problem is that there are no huge levels in which you could go over much water

And not worth the work, maybe they could code it so that you slow down in the water (when you go through it) but thats about it without killing some computers :p

Its actualy very possible in HL1 engin, but yea, theres more important things to work on.. like anti-cheat, 1.2, but i hope if possible they'll do this idea, nothing like a nice realistic looking game.

I was cracking out when I saw cell form 2 thrown to the water like in that gif file
in the first post
I just thought that it would be super cool if sometimes this thing would be added
SO OK - no dust trails or whatever but think about it!!!

(sometimes modes say that if its only eyecandy then why bothering adding it?
if all eyecandy stuff wont be added then ESF wont be much eye candy at all and will be
a lil boring mod with no fun effects and stuff....)

Eyecandy is great and all, but some things are a little too much. Besides, it'll rarely be seen, and not at all worth the trouble.

It really depends on what level. Most people use servers with water in. Now most people use Cellarena_b3/b2 bcos of the dragonballs. Most most of the other servers use maps like esf_guru or riverside
