I was woundering if its possible to make a map that is huge like 5x bigger than normal and if so what settings would i have to change in hammer to do this if any one can help it would be muchly aprchiated.

What do you mean by normal?
There is a size limit as to how large you can make maps in Valve Hammer Editor. There really is no way to make them larger than the map matrix grid.

or is there one that can make 2 map joined together?

There is no way to make it larger than the WC grid.

If you made it as far and as high as the whole thing and you had very descriptive terrain your r_speeds would be... can't count that high lol

While it is possible to link more than one map together, it should not be done in a multiplayer map.
Have you played the Half-Life Singleplayer Mode?
When you go down a hallway or somewhere and the game stops and says Loading..., it is loading the next area map. The two are made to fit seamlessly together, and if you weren't a mapper you might think the entire Singleplayer Mode was one huge map.

anyways.. the esf maps are already really huge since the scaledown of the player models. the map isnt actually as big as it appears but the players are smaller then in normal hl so it looks bigger.
