It's only dual core, but faster than any of AMD's quad or even 6 core'd processors. It has limited OC ability with Turbo.

For it's price, you really can't beat it. However, I still say, just wait. You want an upgrade to last you years, right? Wait, and have enough money to get a worthy upgrade. I waited 4 years to upgrade my rig. I know some people who upgrade every 6 months. I don't do that. I buy a rig when I know it will last me at least 3 years, but usually use it for 4.
