Looking to buy an HDTV.

So I've been saving up for a while for a brand new shiny T.V

Problem is, I'm not sure what I want, as I'm not sure what to look for. My T.V will be mainly for video games, but some moves here and there. So what should I look for in a HDTV? I want a crystal clear picture, good sound, and a T.V that won't get fuzzy or bleed into itself when things get fast paced.

So how do I know a T.V i'm looking for will have a sharp picture or not? If the sound will be good or not, and if it will stay clear even though there is a lot of action on the screen.

I know about 720p and 1080p. But that's about it, and I know that 1080p is better for picture quality. But that's the extent of my knowledge.

I dont know too much about hdtv's but I'v seen the Sharp Aquos' and they're pretty nice.

The only recommendation I can give is one pertaining to size:

Unless you're planning on getting a TV that is at or above the 50" mark, I would recommend getting a TV that tops out at 720p/1080i. It isn't until you get an appreciably large screen that the difference between 720p and 1080p becomes quite stark, particularly if you are sitting 8 feet or more from the screen (at least, I think it's 8 feet). My buddy shaved about $200 off the price of his 42" Bravia, and his 360 games still look crystal clear. As far as sound goes, almost every HDTV I've used or seen used has the same, relatively weak pair of speakers (usually around 10W each).

Another friend of mine invested in a 50" Samsung LCD TV, and, from what I can garner by way of a comparison, the quality is right up there with the Bravia my other friend bought (though, as far as I know, Samsung TVs don't generally cost as much). Both can boast an incredibly sharp/crisp image (though, in Canada, HDTV is still relatively limited in many areas, including Manitoba, so most of the TV we have to choke down is still in 480i/480p, which looks awful on an HDTV, so my definition of a crisp picture is based on Blu-Ray movies, standard DVD movies, and 360 titles).

Sorry I didn't mention size. I'm looking to get between 32" and 37". 32" is what I really want, simply because it's the largest that will fit on my wall. If I do get a 42" (which is my max) it'd have to be placed on another wall, and I really don't want that unless I have to.

Just make sure you get a panasonic or sony, **** cheap brands are not a good idea.

Well brands can go very pricy.

But if you are only looking for 32 inch that is good by price.

hmm not including price I'd go sony first, then panasonic, then lg, then samsung.

If you can't afford something too brandy get Marantz or Grundig maybe
