However, my... specifications are very specific. I'm not even sure if it's possible.

- At least over 40" long (the entire thing, not the blade :O)
- Handle can't be too big, 11-14" is fine >_>
- Lightweight, can be carried in either one or two hands
- Full tang
- Somewhat thin blade, but sharp and durable, so it can cut through stuff
- Definitely pretty cheap

I'd say... my budget is $200?
I've done a bit of searching and I've seen nice stuff, but not really that ^^^^
and I don't know much about swords so I was hoping you people would know.
And for optional, the blade can be black :D

You probably won't be able to find a high quality katana for cheap, and if a website offers it, it's probably lying.

Swords are expensive; a sword that fits your criteria would be very expensive. If you don't mind me asking, what use do you have for a Katana?

I had a halfway decent one for $230 that I bought at a store in the mall. I gave it to a friend. It was razor sharp and pretty durable but I would'nt say it was high quality. One does not need a high quality durable hand-made sword unless he is actually sword fighting with it. Unless you are an immortal from highlander...In which case.... " There can be only one!"

Hey MC, you haven't been posting much recently... I think
Well, for a good question, I don't have a good answer. Hmm... I think I want it for the sake of having one, but I don't want one just for display, or an antique. Something I can occasionally take outside to do some forest clearing.
Not too good of a reason, huh :/

I personally would recommend a regular sized Katana, a 40" Katana would be too unbalanced and heavy (not to mention expensive). Hacking at trees is something I wouldn't recommend doing, regardless if the tree is thick or thin, doing so increases the chance of your Katana breaking, not to mention increased chance of injuring yourself. If you just want to train with it, then I strongly recommend taking classes, but if you don't want to waste time taking classes then the next best thing is to practice with a Bokken before you train with a Katana.
