i feel dumb asking this but... how do you smooth a model when your rendering it in lightwave?

what do u mean by "smooth"
do u mean sorta like mesh smooth in 3ds max if so then ya push tab (in modeler)

Yes, pushing TAB in modeler will put your model into "sub patch" mode. Push it again to get out of it.

If you mean to smooth your model texture, go to the surface editor and click the "smooth" button for that particular texture.

nooo.. not in lightwave modeller but in the rendering part...

What do you mean then? What are you looking to do?

There is a surface editor in Layout as well, so you can check "smoothing" on the texture in there as well.
