This past semester I took a life drawing class, so I thought I would show a few of my pieces. Most of my pieces are of full body nudes, but here are a couple portraits and a close up. These are all done on 18"x24" sheets using Conte Crayon.

Close up of a foot
Drawing time= ~20 mins

Reclining portrait of model
Drawing time= ~20 mins

Self Portait
Drawing time= ~2 1/2 hours

I see school is paying off tremendously... very nice artwork.

1.Close up of a foot - 7/10

The bottom of the foot has a wierd arch to it... doesn't look normal but everything else is flawless.

2.Reclining portrait of model - 9/10

Amazing piece of work, looks like the beginning stages of a nice color portrait

3.Self Portait - 8/10

Can't really crit it without an actual picture of you... it's really nice though. Eyes are a little uneven.

Those are fantastic, the model picture is my favourite. How long have you been drawing? You must've been drawing before your art classes.

Thanks you guys :0) Positive feedback is always nice. I'll try and whip out the digital camera tomorrow and take shots of more drawings.

Honestly I haven't been drawing long. I took a semester long freehand drawing course in high school previous to this class. This is my first college level drawing class. I can show you some of my work from the first three weeks of class (fugly fugly fugly!) if you'd like to see the progression.

That's some wholly decent work right there. I don't do a lot of life drawing.

That second one is fantastic. I would go so far as to completely disagree with anyone who says you should "finish" it. It's really important to learn drawing fundamentals and everything, but don't be limited to drawing what you see. Never lose the drive to experiment, never forget the simple elegance of the line. I support work like that second one, keep tryning new things like that.

As you can see the through the progression that the class was a really really big help. If life drawing is offered at whatever school your going to I recommend you take it :0)

Very nice Masta :D

I like the style. Great use of contrast in the central pic, good shading on the bottom one.
