*edit* I have a new batch from last night, here you go

<hr>
I ran out of paper and I don't feel like buying more since there is only a week left in the semester so I took the `ol lappy to life drawing class tonight. Yes the models are nude. Are they attractive? No. Life drawing tries to capture the human form, so if you can't handle a little nudity don't look. This is the first time i've drawn live models on the computer so I was messing around with different techniques. Let me know what you think. Which, if any, of them work?

10-15 minute pose

~20 minute pose

~15 minute pose

~20 minute pose

~15 minute pose (my jackass friend decided to write "draw baby" below my drawing so I kept it to embarrass him)

I don't like that . It looks very terrible sketched. Give it time and sharpen out the main lines, also remove the bad lines covering within it all, Unless you think that is the main art of the pictures that is.

It's a semester length course and we draw twice a week for 18 weeks. Everything was drawn with a tablet, couldn't live without one. Trust me, you don't want to see pictures of the model in real life.

Godhand: Yea, I need to work on using less strokes. I'm pretty slow at drawing so I need to get a rough gesture drawing down as quick as I can.

Mortenl: Thanks :0) The yellow one is drawn like an ink & wash drawing would be done.

Thanks for the replies

I take a life drawing class and i have to admit it's a lot easier with a pencil and paper on an easel, props to you for getting results like the last one in such a short time on a tablet.

On the topic of life drawing, i once asked my lecturer why the models were generally always fat and unattractive. He said it was to remove the idea in mens mind of the naked woman as a sex object, and draw her as a form in space. So there you go, that's why life models are generally not nice to look at :/

Personally I suggest you put some more time into it if you decide to port it into adobe photoshop , and try sharpening the lines out. I've seen that you have some texture art/skinning knowledge, use some of that to give it smooth coloring , it will eventually get better, good work.

I think you're breaking the TOS, but the drawings are nice! No critiques from meh.

You'll find that the TOS doesn't apply in Mastasurf's case.

There decent sketches, but look highly assisted or repeatedly polished in an academic manner.

Diablos: I agree. At first I though it would be easier to draw on the computer, but I was wrong. Did you like lifedrawing? I think it's awesome. If you have any pieces scanned in I would like to see them.

Godhand: Eh? I was drawing in photoshop while in class. They weren't ported over, and I don't edit them after I finish. that's why my set up lines are still in there.

@ the TOS.

Moderators are there to make judgements. There is a big difference between posting sketches of models and posting porn.

Since he signs my $0.00+thanks paycheck and pays for the bandwidth here, ultimately it's his choice.

If I asked Masta to remove the image, he most likely would, or at least censor it. However, I have allowed pure artwork nudes before (NOT H-Anime stills, which are simply porn with a name stamped over the boobs.) This is one of those skirting the edge, but not falling over it. Keep in mind, Masta and the dev team made the rules here. The TOS does not apply to artwork, only straight up porn, though we discourage stills taken from porn or completely suggestive works.

I havent got any scanned at the mo, they're all on A1 paper and my scanner (which dosent work anyway) is only A4.

I find lifedrawing great, it really helps you improve on yourself. Its amazing to look back at your old pictures and see how much you've progressed :)

You have touched my soul

I find the sketches to be rather magnificent! Each of them hold their own uniqueness and presence, which is important in art. You get these people who simply copy rather than interpret the image. Those types of sketches come out blocky and lifeless. But yours has captured the full soul of these incredibly chubby people. It's like you have reached into my heart and pulled from it my own insecurities ! I want to dance for you masta! I want to dance the dance of life. DRAW ME! :laff:

i only like the first one and the yellow one (allthough the yellow and the darker softbrushing ruins it a bit)

the others are too messy (and yes, i know that you were doing it on the computer and all)

just use a normal brush without those ugly (sorry) effects on the lines.. 2-3px brushes are good enough for that..

Good.

I like your use of contour lines, there is no need to add more lines to detail your sketches if you use mainly contour lines. You really captured the overall mass and shape of the people you drew with the way you set up your lines.
