I would like to see more maps in the beta with lots o water eg. dockside or over the ocean with a few islands (more water than land maps) and maybe some working thunder like de_aztec.

maybe some climate like raining (snow is possible eg. de_survivor --i think--) using sprites or whatever thats the mappers area.

or if its possible some maps with screaming or not screaming ppl running around (make it client side if theres a lag prob) btw the is a suggestion im thinking of ideas here (hope they dont call me.. i mean my idea dumb again o_o )

hmmm anything else......nope not for now.

Discliamer:- If anything has been done, is done in beta or on its way then i appologise for not being all seeing and all hearing.

adding Rain and snow to such a huge open area on an esf map will cause lots of lagg... this doesn't mean we wont try

adding maps with loads of water would be cool, since there r very little of them, it MAY lag abit, but hey, if u lag, u can go away to a different map:D :devil:

hi,
i already said something about it on another tread(i think i'm going to make a new tread for it)...

I'm making a island map for esf!!!
it's a island with a city on it, of wich you can blow up every house piece by piece:D !!! there's also a dr. gero's lab (with the cell part)
and, of course, alot of water around it!:rolleyes:

Ok, here it is...no matter what the r_speeds are, if you have a large body of water it will drop your frame rate (not to be confoosed wit lag/latency/ping).

ya, lots of water will make the map VERY laggy.... you would have 10-20 fps... and then it makes no fun to play...

don't worry about LAG... i'm makeing this map on a:
pII 266 mhz and ehh.. 256 mb RAM and a GeForce2 64 mb

but it still works fine... the most water you'll see is at the background

i wanted to compile it once but i had some problems, if i take screenies in WC it doesn't look nice so you will just have to wait, when the first screenies are done i'll post a tread about it...:)

however, that was one of my first ESF maps, this one will be much nicer

reducing r_speeds in esf.....hmmmmm
large outdoor areas, flying up high and viewing a whole breakable city, not to mention water....pretty tough to lower r_speeds even with using hint brushes if your city is really detailed

:idea:
now i know why esf is doing a scaledown, the half life engine has a limit for the size of the maps, so a scaledown allows larger looking maps than allowed... and the lag would be a lot less with 3/4 smaller maps :D

Not the only reasons . . . but good answers ;)

BTW . . . some of the R_Speeds are just as high as before . . . Zero and Stryker used all that extra "area" to make real sweet maps. :D

I wonder what happened with that monsterous Tree of Might map . . .

They use ZHLT, which may mean that the textures they use are packaged with the maps . . . but I'm sure they'll release what ya need. If nothing else, the wadfather should fix j00r problemas.
