Laptop Sound Driver Updating?

Well, being that this site exists, it's clear that drivers on laptops are problematic. Long story short, I think I've boiled my TF2/source problems down to my sound drivers. I'm running a sigmatel chipset w/ SB Audigy Advanced MB on a Dell Inspiron 1720. Specs for those interested, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 ghtz (Merrom T7700), 3 gigs physical ram, 256 mb Geforce 8600M GT. Driver info: provider is sigmatel / 9/7/2007 / 6.10.0.5609. Under driver details it says driver provider is creative technologies / 1.0.0.195. What I'm looking for is something newer (if it exists) or more functional. I guess this mostly goes out to other dell users. My google fu is yielding rather spotty results. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So yeah. Got anything?

Some people have trouble with the SB Audigy Software Edition. Just use Sigmatel's default driver.

On Dell's support site. It's a simple click -> click -> click to your drivers.
