to make some one be kicked though a hill
make an entite for hill
like disable clipping when they hit that entite and then reenable after they fly out the other side of the entite
then make they hill in the level like the ones in esf_riverside
then tie the hills to that enitie
and then just add effects like rocks fly out of the hill when they hit it
(thats just how it would basicly work)
if you do use it do go in to more depth

if it was that simple wouldnt they have already done it?

the idea is a great one but i dont think the team will do it but hey what do i know... it could be a feature in 1.2 they havnt told us for all we know :laff:

well the problem with esf is that it is made on the HL engine, allthough the engine is still quite good, it IS limited. therefor making destructable terrains would cause massive fps problems, because all of the terrain has to be made of single rocks with hitpoints and stuff, if you are in a map witch have those kinde of structure, the rendering would get so high that even with a high end computer you will have like 10 fps.
not to mention what it will do to the low end pc´s
considering these thoughts it wont ever make it ingame.
that is if masta and pcjoe dont cook something up :]

if you do use it do go in to more depth
you forget something in your nice idea: this is just
destructable terrain with a pretty name on it.
esf is on hl engine, so it will never work good enough to go in the game.

I wish it could work, I thought of this idea ages ago but I never bothered making a suggestion of it, except because I knew the HL engine wouldn't be able to handle it, I thought of having little destructable patches like there are now in some levels, except instead of just blasting it open, you could knock someone through it. Would that work?

I just think it would be fun to throw somebody into a little cave entrance or something.

Eh.....so essentially, you are suggestiong noclip mountains? :eek:

Sounds weird. It would be especially hard to try and get decals in the right position.

then they would be stuck in that mountain till they type kill in console :p
don't think theres ever gonna be something like this in esf cause it's still on hl engine
if it was on quake it could be done maybe but they said it already: esf was build on hl engine and will die on it

Harsens has already said that they already thought about destructable terrain and that it won't happen because it is to much work for something that really isn't important to have a good game.

In 1.2 you get stuck in mountains temporarily until you fall out or hop off of the wall (which 99% of you will do). There's also a debris effect that has rocks appear to come off of the wall when you crash into it, so it looks just fine as it is.

there can be made a map whit a mountian that is made with verry little peases.
when a pease don't have something under it, it wil fall down.
so when you're stuk in it, there wil get a howl in the mountian.
like this

think about it. :D
