I can create and run a server just fine only problem is no one else can see it (although lately it sometimes gets up but when i choose a character it does nothing for about half a second then makes me choose another character..hmmmm..). I know this is a common question but there are only a few threads here and none of them tell me what i need to know. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure it's not a LAN server (type sv_lan 0 in the console and restart the server), and that you've forwarded the proper ports if you're behind a router/firewall. Make sure you're giving out your external IP address to people, and not your internal network IP if you're on a router, as well.
