Ok i know you have prolly answered this question millions of times but ok what i need to do is install half life 1 and then use the ESF update on it to be able to play the game???? and if so or if i need half life one is there a place i can go to download the half life for free because i dont have money and no way to make money but i really want to play the game

No you cannot download half life 1 - it is illegal and will not work online anyway.
You must buy half life 1, then install steam from www.steampowered.com - install it, then install half life 1, and then run it once.
Then and only then are you able to install and play ESF online.
