Installation HELP PLEASE

Hi i recently downloaded esf v.123 and unfortuantly it will not install and what i mean is after i agree to the terms and policies i click next and then the destination is on my hard drive which has plenty of space but the install button will not high lite and wll now allow me to click on it to complete the installation
i am new to this process as i juss got steam today
please help me
and if not can someone please upload the version which is the most popular too play

Please read the FAQ & How to Install ESF sticky in this section

Before I start, please make sure you have STEAM and HALF-LIFE 1 installed.
Step 1: Make sure that you have opened Half-Life 1 at least once
Step 2: Run the installer.
Step 3: Hit I Agree
Step 4: Hit Next
Step 5: You should see Destination Folder. Make sure it says something like this. c:\program files\steam\steamapps\[email protected]\hal f-life\
Step 6: Wait for it to install. Once it's done it should say Completed. Hit close.
Step 7: Restart Steam.
Step 8: Go to Games, double click "ESF 1.2.3"
Step 9: Enjoy!

ESF 1.2.3 is currently the most popular playable version. Good luck on the install, and welcome to the community =D

You need to install half-life installed. You also need to start up half-life once or else ESF won't install.

You can buy it through the Steam store, or at your local gamestore (if they still have a copy)

When you buy it through Steam, it is about $10 USD, you can download and install it to your computer as you wish.
If you have a real copy of HL, you can activate it on Steam by using the serial number.

We're talking about the game Half-Life. Go buy it. ESF won't work if you use a pirated copy of Half-Life.

Yes, you must have the game HalfLife installed, seeing as ESF is a HalfLife Modification.

I believe it is roughly 400 Mb

Install Steam
Start Steam
In the top left corner you should see a search bar, type half-life

You can then buy half-life through that page. Steam is a program in which you can buy and run games through. You need Steam in order to run Half-Life. You need Half-Life in order to run ESF. Hope this helps
