Install help

I got steam and on steam I have installed Counter-Strike 1.6

I do not have half-life...Do I need to have half-life 1 to play ESF?

If I do is there any way to download it for free or will I NEED to buy it directly from steam?

Edit: I mean I installed it like this: C: \Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\(my account)\counter-strike
so it installs but when I start steam it doesn't show up in the list, and if I press the shortcut to ESF which is on my desktop it just starts the normal Counter-Strike 1.6

I just want to get some help here first and be sure what I do before spending 10$ for the purchase of Half-Life 1

Yes I did buy my counterstrike 1.6 with condition zero over steam...

That's probably why it won't work.

I'll just have to buy half-life 1

ESF is not compatible with any pack that includes Condition Zero.
