im not a modeller but ive always wondered how u do these?

do u have like these boards that u draw on so they show up on the comp.. like on 3dstudiomax? or.. how do u do it?

You mean like a tablet PC?
I suppose you could, but it's mostly done with a traditional computer setup. Mouse, keyboard, you know the deal.
As with any 3D program, you mainly work on the 2D views (normally Front, Left, and Top), which are represented and viewed in 3D space.
Modeling is mainly done in either 3DSMax or MilkShape3D.
