Whenever I try to run ESF via Steam, this error appears:

What the hell is happening? It's been this way for more than a month already!

i had that error also sometime now...

1.Download Ccleaner from here

2.launch it and go to Issues tab:

after the progress is done:
Press Fix Selected Issues->it asks u to backup files, press NO.

if it doesnt work, then u should just reinstall steam, but for me that trick worked just fine.

ok, now u just exit ur steam, and now if it says steam is already running, press:
ctrl+alt+del, and then go to processes tab and check if there is Steam.exe, if there is click it, and press: stop process.
if there isnt, well... start the steam!

EDIT: and if it STILL doesnt work, then the steam is again ****ing up at us! o_O

That's right.

It's too bad that Steam doesn't have an official forum where you can ask people more qualified what's wrong.

Really.

Oh, great. Now it says:

Generally deleting the ClientRegistry.blob in the main Steam folder will fix this issue.

EDIT: Make sure Steam's off when you delete the file. Then when you start Steam again it will redownload the file for you.

Tried it again and again. Tried repairing Steam, but nothing. Tried reinstalling ESF and Half-Life, nothing. Like I said, once this stupid bandwidth limit dissapears, I will reinstall Steam. No other way.

I did. They said the same stuff you guys did, "delete ClientRegistry.blob", "Reinstall Steam", "Redownload Half-Life" but nothing. So, never mind.

I can't. Even if I uninstall ESF Half-Life still won't run. So the problem can't be in ESF, since it works fine with WON. It must be either Steam or Half-Life. Therefore, all I can try now is reinstalling Steam, which I can't do right now.

LookyO_O what I found.

"If deleting the clientregistry.blob file does not resolve the issue, please exit Steam and delete everything under the Steam installation directory except Steam.exe and the /SteamApps/ folder - this will force Steam to update when you log in"..

Hope this helps.

Look, when I delete clientregistry.blob, Steam indeed DOES update. But it doesn't solve my problem. I don't see how deleting almost everything in my Steam folder is going to do that either.

I got that from the steam site.. they thought it might help and so I thought it might help you. If you would rather just reinstall the whole folder, by all means go for it.
