Illidan has been downed by the guild Nihilum (European)

I'm shocked. Heard blizzard is going to buff the end game instances by a **** load.

Your thoughts? (in b4 you have a life, they need lives, etc.)

well, this is an insanely quick time to kill "the last boss", poor blizzard are probably realising this raid instance spammage isnt going to last long.

Not to mention they totally destroyed the lore.. not only is illidan stormrage dead, but he could fire dragonball z-esque pewpew beams from his mouth? ~_~

Well, they got Starcraft 2 now.

I dunno... it's not like they are binded by the Warcaft lore, when it comes to new instances.

Well yes it was fast. But nihilum has also been raiding untill 2-3 at night every day. One of my friends is in the guild and he told me that one of their main tanks was taken to hospital due to exhaustion and no sleep.

If that happens you know that you play too much.

But yes it sux that he's already down. He was the main boss of tbc - and with his death the expansion is kinda completed already.
And now they can't add new content except for icecrown without completely destroying the lore.

Like they didn't destroy the lore with Draenei?

It doesn't really matter if it's binded IMO... as long it's not completely retarded... like a huge army of stampeding clefthoofs. (April 1st parody)

Oh, and is everyone forgetting Arthas? You know the Scourge hasn't even showed it's champion, yet.

Not prepared? You *****es don't have a chance.

It's Nihilium though.. They're like... the Uber-super Euro-pean best. Left Death and Taxes in the dust. Also the Illidan fight is heavily scripted, Maiev Shadowsong makes the killing blow.

And with that, that means Nihilum didn't down him, but Maiev did! :0!

I'm not exactly into the whole warcraft thing, what exactly is the lore? I've heard talk about it since TBC but never really found out.

And Synth... The scourge champion looks... Wow.

Well, with TBC out... places like MC/BWL and Ony are skipped over, unless you don't have the expansion.

I'm still like the... God of Warcraft Lore.

Illidan Stormrage, as you know, was the Demonhunter hero in the Warcraft 3 Night Elf campaign. Your traditional brooding anti-hero. Huge cult following. Not really all that evil at first, but Malfurion would probably blame him for Sargeras' existence if he could. Blah blah blah... He meets Arthas in Felwood, and he's convinced to consume the Skull of Gul'dan. This causes his first Metamorphosis. This pisses Malfurion off and Illidan is banished from Kalimdor. Cue the rest of Warcraft 3...

Frozen Throne starts with the Warden Maiev Shadowsong, Illidan's Jailor. She's obsessive, and probably just as brooding and generally angry, if not more. The Wardens are the Night Elf Secret Police basically(One thing that annoys me about WoW is their non-existence... which makes sense, sorta, given them being a Secret... You could make Night Elf Rogues interact with them though... oh well.) She hates Illidan for being himself, Tyrande for setting Illidan loose, and probably Malfurion for his complacancy. She chases Illidan to the Broken Isles(Which, interestingly, is partly the ruins of Suramar, the home city of the Stormrage Bros.) Illidan has awakened the Naga, as well as made a new pact with Kil'Jaeden, the new leader of the burning legion after Archimonde's death. With his new allies, Illidan was ordered to destroy the Lich King, Kil'Jaeden's pet project gone awry. To do this he was going to use something called the Eye of Sargeras in the Tomb of Sargeras.(While inside she find and rebuilds an artifact called the Shadow Orb. A sideeffect being they become permanently obsessed with something. As you'll see for Maiev it was catching, and later Killing Illidan) Maiev confronts illidan within, but is nearly killed as the tomb collapses, which was Illidan's doing. Maiev sends a runner back to Kalimdor to get help from Malfurion and Tyrande. With the threat that the Eye of Sargeras is in mind, they rush to the Broken Isles to pull her ass out of the fire. Illidan escapes to Lordaeron and they follow. Landing in Lordaeron, approximately in Silverpine Forest I believe they head into the plaguelands to find illidan. Malfurion enters the forest to commune witht he spirits and along the way, Maiev and Tyrande run into Kael'Thas Sunstrider. A minor point for now. He escort his caravan to safety. However they come to a bridge with an overwhelming amount undead on their tails. Tyrande holds the bridge while it collapses under her. When Malfurion rejoins the group, Maiev lies and says that Tyrande was torn apart before her very eyes in an attempt to bring Malfurion into a killing rage. I believe at that point, Illidan starts using the Eye of Sargeras to cast a massive destructive spell to attack Icecrown. Malfurion, being Druid Supreme, feels the pain of the world and rushes to stop Illidan. Pissed about Tyrande getting killed, Malfurion decides to sentence Illidan to death, which Maiev is only too happy to oblige. However, Kael'thas returns and interjects that Maiev had only been washed down river. (I may have forgotten to mention that while Tyrande is with Malfurion, both brothers are in love with her) Illidan offers his Naga to help rescue Tyrande. They do, and for saving Tyrande, Malfurion banishes him from Kalimdor again, and deters screwing with the Night Elven people again with death threats. Maiev is royally pissed and yells at malfurion, chasing Illidan into Lordaeron.
Cut to later on. Illidan leaves to hide in Outland, and take a guess who's there to finally catch and contain him. The Blood Elves come to seek assistance from Illidan, and free him from the Warden. At that point, Illidan and his new servants take over outland. At some point, Illidan imprisons Maiev in return, with Akama as her jailor. There was a lore mistake at some point where Maiev dies in outland, but thats been retconned. At some point, Akama realizes that Illidan was just as much of an ******* as Magtheridon before him. The Black Temple, or rather Temple of Karabor as it was once known, was the greatest Draenei temple on Draenor. Akama's pissed and has decided that he's had enough. He reveals this to Maiev at some point I gather. A special sect known as the Ashtounge Deathsworn is formed(The Ashtounge Tribe is gathered from some of the most evil Broken in Draenor, while the Deathsworn, are some of the most good.) Akama conspires on how to weaken and kill Illidan, while Maiev broods and obsesses, occasionally demanding that Akama just cut her loose, not wanting to be a tool in Akama's plan. Regardless, with the player's help, Akama's plan is set into motion, and you attack the Black Temple after a couple stops in the attunement process. There's a boss in the temple called Shade of Akama, the dark half of Akama's soul that binds him to Illidan. I get the feeling you have to kill this to fight Illidan(since Akama helps you in the fight.) I don't know the fight, but I gather you batter Illidan down to a certain point and Maiev intervenes. We get a cutscene, and Maiev strikes him down.

Thats about the short and long of it.

EDIT: They let us help kill a beloved character like Illidan, I see no reason why we won't end the scourge once and for all. As for Frostmourne... trust me, you don't want it. It drives you crazy and steals your soul.

Yea but what i meant was: the only new end content they could add without it being something totally without lore would be arthas (icecrown) - which is next expansion.

Of course we have the dragonmaw fortress in wetlands where we have our dear deathwing captured :)

Thats not confirmed. I believe he's in Outland. The Netherwing chain implies it.

On Further Notes... I think there's a reason we've still yet to hear anything about Ashbringer. It was a weapon made to destroy undead not demons.

There's a faction of Dissident blood elves known as the Scryers that have joined with the Sha'tar seeking the help of the Naaru to help save the Blood Elven race. Their reasoning is that Kael'Thas has "switched paymasters" and allied himself with the Burning Legion, covertly. Illidan isn't surprised and still has many blood elves under his own control. The Scryers are lead by Voren'thal the Seer, who apparently had a vision that either the Naaru would save his people, or following Kael'Thas would lead to extinction. I forget which. The Player Blood elf faction comes into contact with the Scryers and figure out that Kael'Thas and Outland aren't the salvation they were looking for, as well as the connection with the legion. I would say the main motivation is revenge against Kael'thas and his followers for betraying them. As if the arrogant little bastards didn't have enough problems already.
