If you're getting popups even with the popup blocker enabled, it's because they're coming at you through Flash. How to stop them:
  • Type about:config into the Firefox location bar.
  • Right-click on the page and select New, and then Integer.
  • Name it privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins
  • Set the value to 2.

Possible values:
  • 0 - Allow all popups from plugins.
  • 1 - Allow popups, but limit them to dom.popup_maximum.
  • 2 - Block popups from plugins.
  • 3 - Block popups from plugins, even on whitelisted sites.

I noticed a few sites giving me these and was getting a little disappointed. Not anymore. =)

Thanks DragonDude, was wondering where the Pop up's were coming from.
Any way to keep it from "freezing up" when opening FireFox?
This only happends once, after I just log in or use it after leaving it alone for a while.
