I really need help!

I am having a major problem which is that once I open then installer 1.2.3 it does not let me go ahead with the install. I already have HL installed, I ran through the Training but yet it does not let me pick a folder to install. I do not know what to do.

Any advice?

B.T.W - I ran the Open Beta Final and it DID install and I restarted Steam but yet no icon to start the game. All I want is to play the stable version 1.2.3 but none seems to work.

I'm running on Vista 64-Bit if that has anything to do with. :fight:

try running the installer in windows xp compatibility mode

Nope it ain't that. Already tried it. It would really suck if I couldn't play it.

Few questions:

1. Are you using a legal copy of Half-life 1?
2. Have you ran Half-Life 1 at least once?

Legal.. OF COURSE but I just found out that the problem is that it's HL Source... I hadn't noticed until now.

Would it work on HL2?

You have to buy half life 1.

It's 10 bucks.
