I'm looking for a song that has that old folk tune and quickly blends in with the metal, like the songs above. I prefer if you know a band that are like Ensiferum (the second song). Eluveitie (first song) kinda sounds too depressed for my taste but they're okay.

Melodic metal... there's quite a few bands out there who mix opera'esque instruments with metal music. A few examples (you can find their songs on youtube):

- Rhapsody
- Kamelot
- Lacuna Coil
- Tristania
- Within Temptation
- Nightwish (recent stuff is more mainstream)
- Sirenia
- Epica
- Jethro Tull (not so much metal, but older folk rock)
- Sonata Arctica (some songs use classic instruments, but they are mostly a power metal band like dragonforce)

Hope this helps.

If your looking for a great example of melodic folk metal i suggest Elvenking. songs like the wanderer for example.

yes, the clip has an epic picture. who needs a music vid when you get to stare at that!

But yeah, sadly folk metal which isnt screamo depresso is in somewhat short supply.

Hammerfall? :(
Yes, and Blind Guardian. You can also try Finntroll, Ensiferum, Falconer, Firewind. There's another band, but it's slipping my mind right now.

Wintersun is pretty much exactly the same stuff as Ensiferum, mostly because one of the original Ensiferum guys left to form that band.

Finntroll is also pretty similar.

you know, a lot of nightwish would suit you... so would a Dutch band called Epica
