I have an important question about my Half-Life serial, plz help me

no, this is not a thread where i ask for a HL serial, but its an actual question about a HL serial, its the following question:

can I buy HL 1 and install it on my own pc and then on my cousins pc,
cuz he really likes DBZ so he wants ESF, so can i install it at his pc, or will something happen? or what? consequences?

once you register your serial to your steam account
you can login to it from any pc and download half-life from steam

you gonna need to buy two half-lifes to play online together
or if you have two pcs at your(or his) house you can play together at your or his house on lan

You can't be logged in on the same Steam account at the same time.

If your cousin uses your account, he can play online whenever you're not, but you can't play against each other.

so then i should install it on both pc's from CD,

so the cd is "non steam" and from steam is for online, but cant you install from CD and play it on steam then(aside from this topics question)

i somewhere read that people could play online with WON, how is that?

if you install from the cd its the non-steam version
if you register your serial on steam and download the game from steam its the steam version
you can do both though

also note that playing on lan is on computers that are on the same local network(same house) you cant play on lan from your house and his house

i dont think you can play online on won

You can create a LAN game that other people on the Internet can join if you use Hamachi to create a fake LAN. ;)
Remember, it is still (most likely) illegal for you to have the same copy of Half-Life installed on two PCs at the same time.

After you create a network and all of your friends have connected to it through Hamachi, go into ESF and create a server, and have your friends browse the LAN servers in the server browser.

and can i use this same way, to just enter my server alone?
