Either extract the files from the modification's .rar or .zip file to your Half-Life folder within your Steam directory, or just run the installer.

Usually, there are instructions if the mod is to be unzipped/unrared. And if it's an install, it should point you directly to the correspndent folder.

ok thanks i only asked this cause i need a damn cd key cuz i lost mine so i ant play esf even though i have half-life instaled alredy

You can actually find out what you CD-Key is if you installed non-Steam Half-Life, though it involves searching through your registry.
