I'm new and i was wondering how you get a poly count on a model. I was also wondering if you have to put a skeleton in each model in order to use it in game. Or can u just replace the old model but keep the old skeleton. Thanx in advance.

Well, you can assign the model to any skeleton, but each model wont assign to the skeleton the same. Lets say you assigned Goku to Buu's skeleton. The skeleton was built for the Buu model, so Goku would look all deformed when assigned to it.

So to answer your question, yes. You have to assign a model to a skeleton. Its just a matter of how well the model deforms when rigged to it.
