Hmm, start reading the tuts in worldcraft and in the maps section in the forum.

Or just follow the tutorial in valve hammer like i did.

Just follow tuts you find, and PM mappers if you have any big problems.
It's not easy to get started but once you get a bearing on things you'll learn pretty quickly.
