How do I make a server?

I wanna create my own servers but everytime I do it doesnt work an nobody can get in...What do i need to start servers? What mods and such...

Try typing this in console

sv_lan "0"

If you have a router or firewall, I don't think people can join your game except if they find it through the Server Finding feature.

what thats it....but I cant just go to create game.... thats weird...u sure i dont need any mods besides amx and meta?

If you are on Steam, this should work. No you don't need AMX or Metamod, those are Server addons, not essentials. Just Create you game, type sv_lan "0" then restart your server (type restart in console).

I don't think so, but your friends should still be able to join your server if they use HL's Filter feature. I'm sure you could disable a port, but I'm not really sure how to do that.

yeah it doesnt work...it gives me a bogus code error....hmm damn i dont wanna move to steam.

I'd move it but, I was removed from my Mod status months ago.
