in worldcraft click on 'map'
then click on 'map properties'
then at 'sky' fill in the name of the sky:
for example: 'dusk' or 'night' or 'xen' (those are some sandard HL skies)

IMPORTAINT: if you make a map, put a wall over it with the texture: SKY
make sure that this wall goes around the whole map!!! (or else you get leaks an the map will crash!!

uuh ya... But when u make the sky dont make a big sky box around your map.. It will just increase lag.... alot. Just put the sky bow where u need it so it touches a solid map object and there are no openings to the outside. You can see what skys you already have by going to
C:\Sierra\Half-Life\cstrike\gfx\env
in there you will find lots of .tga files.. example
backalleybk.tga
backalleydn.tga
backalleyft.tga
backalleylf.tga
backalleyrt.tga
backalleyup.tga
That sky is called "backalley" dont take the last 2 letters.. those just represent where that part of the sky will be placed.

To compile a map you can hit F9 and it brings up the compile options. Select the options that fit your needs.

Another way to compile maps is to use a seperate compiler like Batch Compiler :p

Compiling em makes it a .bsp

Not using Zoner HL Tools for compiling yet? ya should. :D

Its got more funct and is more advanced.

Get it at http://www.valve-erc.com

Its there, just search for Zoner. Can't be bothered to search the link myself. I got a map of my own to compile. It needs to finally get outta the Beta phase. :\
