How can Video Gaming be a Career? ?

Start by learning animation. It's a big step towards the goal.

Specifically, starting with 3DSMax would probably help. It has a nice tool set and is relatively easy.

Get the skills you want and then get any job you can in a gaming studio. Also, that's a bot.

Join Mods, start learning a 3D package. Max, Maya, Xsi or even blender.
and be prepared to spend hours of fiddling behind the screen

at least thats how i got a job in the industry

but with playin games... not a fat chance of that happening you will make billions with that.
in some cases playin games might make you loose allot of money or a social life
