Hi, i need hl1. Is there a way to buy & download it online, or do i have to go to a store and buy?

Your address is probably required for security reasons. Maybe to make sure you exist.

After you buy Half-Life, Steam will automatically register it to your Steam account and begin downloading it from the server.
