HELP ME " x4 gangsta "

HI, THIS IS X4 GANGSTA, i need help....

i click to play earths special forces and it shows the main backround " vegeta kicking picolo" and it turns white and just stays like that....? same with all the other steams game i try to play.... any ideas on how to get the game running?

Are you using Steam?
Are you running ESF through Steam?
Have you tried uninstalling ESF and reinstalling it?
Have you tried downloading the ESF installer from another site?

Im talking to him over AIM.

He has STEAM and hes runing the games through STEAM. Also this error seems to affect all STEAM games.

Hmm... Has he tried reinstalling Steam?

That might be a problem for someone who has no idea about his computer.

He doesnt know any specifications. All we managed to find out was that steams checkup returned a possible problem.

A file named winmgmt.exe

It could be a virus since there is a known virus that moves the original "winmgmt.exe" file to another folder somewhere on the computer and takes the name of that file and posses as the original.

Another thing is that X4 Gansta could have it turned off since it does run as a service.

Once again, you do not need to type in all capitals.

Alright, so list everything you tried to do to fix the problem so we don't end up telling you something that you have already done.

Meh all we could go through was trying to turn off the winmgmt.exe file (didnt work turn off)

And reinstalling ESF (didnt work)

You need to leave it on. If you look under Windows XP services, there should be a service called "Windows Management Instrumentation", make sure that it's set to "automatic".

Also a virus scan wouldn't hurt to make sure that the winmgmt.exe hasn't been replaced by the virus.

I think his problem it's whit the video option I think it's on Direct 3d so that's why it look's like this (it hapend to me once ) i'v change it on opengl and boom work

PROBLEY SOLVED .... AND I LIKE TYPING IN CAPS.... IM NOT MAD.... TO FIX MY PROBLEM I REINSTALLED ESF ,AND DOWNLOADED 78.05_winxp2k_english off the steampowered site.... only one thing left to do.... get a faster computer becuz mines so slow i cant play the game
