I'm trying to get the cost of this down. Looking for suggestions. Things to keep in mind:
1. I need the mobo to be Socket LGA 1366.
2. I need so be able to SLI things in proper 2x16 as I will be upgrading in that direction eventually instead of buying a new video card.
3. No I don't have any kind of monitor :p
4. If you manage to find bundles or oddball discounts I'd love to hear it.

Otherwise, go to town with reccs.

these would be my picks http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=11557614

Some reasoning: Went for a GTX 460 since it's cheaper, quieter and cooler, though not as powerful, for gaming at 1920x1080 it should be enough. Esp if you want to go sli later on having a cool card is a must.
Next the samsung hard drives were way cheaper and in my opinion, unless it's a velociraptor most mechanical drives perform more or less equal. If you want something high performance for OS upgrade later to an SSD or flash/hard drive hybrid.
PSU is cheaper without rebate, with your pick is cheaper, so well... nvm my choice there. RAM I picked is slightly faster while being just as cheap.

Mainly, the only suggestion that will really save you money is the vid card + the HDDs

I don't trust anyone other than WD for HDD. And I don't think a 650W PSU would be enough for any SLI setup. And is that ram really any faster? Looks identical to me?

Well as I said, your PSU pick is cheaper in the end, so nvm that (altho my OC'ed i7 with a GTX280 draws about 450W max, so I guess even 2 460's should be fine as they draw less).

'And for some reason I saw your RAM as cl8, so ignore that as well.

1. Why? 1156 mobo's, espcially with a 860 CPU, is faster in games then a i7 950...and cheaper!
2. No you don't, 2x8 will have the same exact result. HardOCP tested this to the death.
3. I suggest you take a IPS panel monitor. Those monitors excel(!) in color reproduction and you will never want to go back.

See my shopping cart. I need to remind you that I have a bigger hard disk, more memory, the best PSU(Very quiet, reliable and very high efficiency), but not the videocard included, but add another 250-300 dollar.(I would go for the HD6xxx series)
If you want a very good monitor get a HP ZR24W or Dell U2410, but these are very expensive.(But totally worth it, they have a different kind of LCD panel, IPS instead of TN, colors, view angles etc. are MUCH(!) better)
I'm a total hardware geek and I can promise you this setup is a lot better and cheaper then your set up.
