Simple question, would you rather have a Hazard Suit (HL/HL2) or a Master Chief Suit (Halo/Halo2).

I say Hazard Suit all the way. 3 reasons.
1) Gordon Freeman is cool
2) http://hlownsh.ytmnd.com/
3) "Have a verry, safe, day" (female voice that the suit says)

Note: This is NOT a HL2 vs HALO2 thread, this is the armor that they wear. Also this isnt about if Gordon could kick Master's arse. Its JUST about what they wear.

Well, technically the halo suit offers you rechargeable temporary invincibility, so I don't see how it isn't a superior (and implausible) design. Just run up and smash the hazard suit then run away before your suit runs out of power, let it recharge, and repeat. Unless you were cornered you'd be fine, and if you were cornered, you could run right through freeman before your suit ran out and retreat.

Hazard suit still rules over it cause the Spartan Solder MUST wait for recharging while a person can crouch jump (using jump module) and out run the Spartan Soldier (master chief).

Not to mention that the Spartan Soldier outfit CANT sprint also. So Hazard Suit is MANY times faster than Spartan Solder outfit.

And plus gordon DOES have a helmet, but hes so cool he doesnt use it. (I am refering to the default model that Half-Life changes to if the person doesnt have the model. I forget the name though)

Varia Armor rules both of them.

I'd pick master chief..even though I dislike both games.

I will go with the Hazard Suit:

1.) Designed to handle hazardous materials and environments.
2.) Has a flash light.
3.) It talks to you and informs you of certain things.
4.) Administers morphine if your health is very low (increases your health a bit).
5.) Welcomes you; Overall user-friendly.
6.) Can be super-charged (Near the end of Half-Life 2).
7.) Jump/Sprint Module.
8.) Fits conveniently into most glass cases.
9.) The only thing that fits is the gloves.

Depends on the situation. If im going to Iraq, Ima bring the Master Chief Armor. If I plan on going exploring or escorting someone, Im gonna go with the Hazard Suit. I like Half-life a lot more then halo but I would go with Master Cheif Armor because it covers the whole body.

The spartan armor, along with an A.I. construct like Cortana in it.. would be a lot more useful than the hazmat and it's computer.

I'm not exactly that fond of halo 2, but I agree it's armor would kick the hazard suits ass.

Hazard Suit ftw, it can carry so many weapons, Spartan only allows you to carry two.

The Spartan looks cooler though.

YES!!! that explains the greater reasons why hazard suit is better, heres some more:
10.) It can survive GREAT falls (yes, the spartan suit can survive a fall from a building, but if you fall anywhere close to the edge, your automatically dead.
11.) You can swim using the Hazard suit. Something that the Spartan Suit never did.
12.) You have a friendly female voice talking to you instead of an annonying whiney one that talks at the worst possible times.
13.) The Hazard suit can survive a hit MANY times stronger than the spartan soldier suit could ever take.

You people are confusing gameplay elements with the actual suit. Citing the specific voice of "Cortana" that you think is annoying doesn't make the suit inferior. You could replace Cortana with any other A.I. construct that sounds perfect to you.

Nobody ever said Master Chief couldn't swim, the game level designers chose not to make it part of the game. Couldn't fall off a cliff? That's because those were the boundaries of the levels.. "Two weapon limit"? Same thing. And considering the Master Chief armor can take hits with gigantic energy swords, bullets, explosions, etc--I'd say it's a good deal more vulnerable since it can take the hits without the suit being damaged.

If you're going to vote, you should vote based on the actual suit rather than your like or dislike of particular game elements that have nothing to do with the suit.

Im gonna go with the Spartan Suit since it'd make me 100 times more agile. I dont remember Gordon jumping 20 feet up into the air at any time during Half Life.

The two weapon limit is true to the suits themselves though. I clearly remember the female voice in HL talking about weapon selection system on. Meanwhile the Spartan Suit never hold more than 3 weapons (2 in hands and one in storage).
I never used the Hazard Suit on Playstation 2, but I was told told that they had all the weapons that they could grab. While on BOTH versions of the Spartan Armor, they had thier current weapon(s) and the 1 in storage.

Yes Spartan Soldier suit can survive ONE hit from a gigantic sword, and ONE hit (assuming it wasnt stuck) from an explosion. Meanwhile Hazard suit can survive that exact same blast (I cant say energy, because that involves including Tao canon, that rotating blue canon, the strider/flying guy, and that plasma rifle in HL2, which are according to you "GAMEPLAY STUFF"), and still is the same ammount down as the other suit (aka just as easy to kill).

The fact is that there is always gameplay issues in this arguement.
Heres an example:
--Great armies of zombies.
Yes Both of them have fought zombies. You start off with the zombies that are in Halo, those are all kinds and self replicating fast. Then the Normal half-life zombies which are slow. But then you Include the New zombies in HL2, and you have the exact same problem. Both teams of zombies have a wide arrange of stuff that they can do, and both do stuff like self replicating, and both can deal damage fast in thier own ways.

This affects the judgement of the suits in the fact that the zombies are the unit that both suits fight the most/hardest, so therefor its the one that most players will base thier opinion of the suits aginst. Which one is better in the most generic combat of them all.

-- Stuff that you did inside the game includeing cut scenes.
You have to assume that what happenes in cut scenes is always true to the whole way the suit works. If that means that your suit survived a fall off of a 100 story building (which none of them did in cut secenes), that means taht your suit can fall off a 100 story building.
Since The Hazard suit could fall off of great heights (in HL1) and make it to the bottom ok (I used the wall "ramp" effect to do this) that means that that suit can survive great falls if used properly.
However, in Halo, great falls could not use the "ramp effect" to cousion your fall. Even though the idea was you couldnt return from that fall, it doesnt matter. What the game didnt allow means that what happened must always be true.

In Summary
Gameplay will ALWAYS affect how a certain element in that specific game works. And if we get rid of the gameplay factor, we just get a usless suit. One that has no practical use. Because if there was no war, there is no reason to use either suit to begin with.
Therefore GAMEPLAY does affect the suit. So you do have to considder parts of gameplay in the back of your mind FOR your arguements about why the suit that you choose is greater.

We HAVE to assume that cortana comes with your Spartan suit, we HAVE to considder that the Spartan Soldier suit can never swim since user never did, we HAVE to considder that Spartan Suits can only carry 3 weapons max, and we have to assume that the gloves fit in the Hazard Suit.
