Gundam Anime

So basically my extent of Gundam viewing is Gundam Wing and G Gundam. I've been marathoning Gundam Wing for a while and now I can see why many see it as a such a crappy show. At least with the awkward dialog. I plan on doing G Gundam next for old time's sake which should be amusing...

So what I must ask of you, ESF forums, is what other Gundam series are good? I'm particularly interested in some of the older shows that seem to at least focus more on the war aspect instead of the characters themselves. At least to the extent where it's not just a handful of "superpowered" pilots who waste anyone in their way.

Kinda hoping for Cuc's input on this one, so here's to hoping the big guy signs on sometime soon.

A nice 12 ep anime. Youll still see some character focus but the gundams here arnt overpowered supersuits and the pilots themselves are just plain soldiers.

Zeta Gundam but you should really watch the original Mobile Suit Gundam so you can learn the story of the 0079 Saga. Once your done with those 2 series then watch Char's Counter-Attack which is almost a 2 hour movie with one of the interesting ending's.

You really should watch the Universal Century Timeline Gundam shows, they were the best constructed from a plot perspective.

As Phobs mentioned, that would include the 0079 sieries or movies, and Zeta (also Series or Movies) and Double Zeta (ZZ Gundam).

08th MS team is my favorite by far because of its gritty feel and sad storyline (I won't ruin the ending, but it wasn't what I was expecting from the start). 08th MS team is a part of the UC storyline, and takes place concurrent with the 0079 show/movies.

I highly recommend you spend some time with 00 Gundam. Its by far the best of the new stuff they've been hawking. It doesn't take place in the UC, and it seems to follow a story format similar to New Mobile Report Gundam Wing.

0082 War in the Pocket and 0083 Stardust Memories are side stories, and some of them aren't bad, but they tend to drag on. They are part of the UC series.

After you've seen all the UC gundams, catch the Char's Counterattack movie, which ends the seires, and the epic duels between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable.

Gundam F91 is the last movie in the UC timeline (that you should bother with), but it takes place far in the future. The comics were much better, and you should seek out the Crossbone Vanguard Mangas if you can.

Char vs Amuro, is quite possibly the sickest anime fight evar.

I'll agree with Cuc. Watch all that he mentioned. I'll also agree on Gundam 00, but avoid the dub as your ears will endlessly bleed.

I've only ever watched Gundam Wing and a bit of Seed. I didn't like Seed too much though.
