Great Photoshop tutorial on painted metal surfaces

I saw this tutorial a while ago and decided to work through it and see what I could make. I used the object in the tutorial as a template and came up with something similar to texture.



Then, with the aid of UVMapper, I created my texture and bump maps.



I was quite impressed with the result, considering I have never actually textured anything.

Too bad my 3dsmax trial expired :p but i'm definitly bookmarking this one, might come in handy for other stuff ^^

It's a biggie, so I hyperlinked it, rather than posting it in the thread opener.



No specular on this one; Flamingo doesn't do specular mapping and, although the texture map goes on nicely, the bump and specular maps won't work for me in Maxwell.

Here's another with different lighting to show the bump map... and no bright red.



Edit: Hey, 3ds might work...

That is pretty awesome. Gonna try that tut out sometime.
