Got an half-life 2 account

so i got ESF, but because hl1 is called hl-source i don't think it recognizes on the setup,and i can only install on dedicated server folder...another thing i don't have hl1.exe it uses hl2.exe that esf setup or maybe my steam doesn't recognize.

So i ask how do i solve this?
do i have to buy HL1?or is there something that can be done?

Two things:

1) You need to purchase Half Life 1, Half Life Source is a remake of Half Life 1 using the source engine for water effects and such. They are not the same thing, and ESF will not work on the Source Engine.

2) Your signature violates the AUP standards on size, and must be reduced or removed within 24 hours.

There's always buying it. Only $10 (that's like ?7 in the UK). ESF isn't the only HL mod. There are hundreds of mods so in theory you're only 'buying' ESF for very little.

I think you mean the best way to get banned is "to hack somebody's account"

Don't hack someones account especially since HL is so cheap and you'd most likely get caught by steam.

If said person who owns account tells VALVe about it, you will not only lose that account, but your account will be disabled forever aswell.

Just buy HL1. It's cheap, and worth it. There are sooo many mods out there, besides ESF. Don't think of it as buying just Half-Life. Think of it as buying Half-Life AND the two million mods that are out there. It's worth it, trust me.

Anyway Xenon's right (oh Xenon welcome to the forums!).

Shady, Steam is smart. It will know what your doing, it knows if you use someone else's account. (if you choose to which isn't recommended) So buy it, you can get HL2 so why not HL?

uhm you could hack someones account just with the thing that the account will get ereased and will have another name.

Steam wont close your own account, but they will remove the hacked accoutn you did and then it gets another name.

If you would read the Forum AUP, you would know that talk of such things is not allowed here, and may be met with warnings from staff.

If you're caught stealing/phising accounts, Valve WILL disable your account and give the stolen account back to the rightful owner.
