Got a weird video more problem

My esf used to work fine no problems. But lately when i try to play it it crashes on the opening screen and says that the video mode isnt supported. Then i have to keep opening the game so it lets me change the video mode back to opengl. How can i stop this from happening. Also if someone could tell me why it keeps changing video modes by itself that be great.

Its strange, normally it would save it upon change of the video mode.
I tried searching for some files that saves all options (if there is any), but i have no luck finding it.

Have you tried reinstalling steam?, ESF itself?
