Well the thing is that i live in a student dormitory of my school with few of my friends. Of course dormitory life gets boring at times, especially when you cant drink any alcohol while living there. We were thinking any good games to play on our local network and i think we have played almost every good game we can think of playing in LAN.
Now i want you to recommend me good games that we could play in LAN network.
Some games we have already tried:
-Counter strike(No-steam version, but almost all of us own the legal copy of the game, so i dont count it as illegal)
-Diablo 2
-Dungeon Siege 2
-Halo (PC version, no co-op campaign :( )
-Star Wars Battlefront
-Star Wars Jedi Academy
-Call of Duty 2
-Worms 2
-Quake 3
-Heroes of Might and Magic
-Warcraft 3
-Bunch of others i dont remember at the moment...

On the last LAN I was at we played Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, Dawn of War and other popular games.
I also recommend any of the original C&C games (meaning anything befor generals), if you're into RTS.
Worms is also tons of fun.

how about esf?
Not many of us are into DBZ, it would end up with 2 of us playing.

Quake 3 - We have played it, and its not that fun. Just pointless shooting to me.
Unreal tournament - We havent played it, but we might dig up a copy of old UT.
Dawn of war - Havent tried yet, so i'll add it to list.
C&C - Not many of us are into strategy games.
Worms - Already tried, but playing turn based games on Lan is the same than playing it on 1 comp. Same goes for Heroes of might and magic.

Read some posts before posting. Like i said:
ESF - My friends are not intrested enough in DBZ to actually play the game
Quake3 - Pointless shooting doesnt intrest me.
Quake4 - *read above*
Unreal tournament - I might try them if i manage to find any of them.
CS - We have played CS so much that its actually coming out of my ears.(too much)

Currently finding out more about clonk and operation flashpoint

- Battlefield 2 (Great but don't get 2142, titan mode is ***.)
- 1nsane (Old PC game but good racing game for lan. Good luck finding it. =p)
- Giants (Old PC game aswell but its damn good, its like 10 bucks.)
- Rainbow six series (We play this in certain occasions.)
- World of Warcraft. (Set up a private server, tatatata...)
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit. (Rarely)
- Unreal Tournament 2004. (I think you said it, but it's damn fun expecially when you get people pissed off in the assault mode.)

Those are the games I've played in my Lan partys.

That really isn't appropriate for this forum. Let's keep it in your closet.

You said not many of you are into strategy games, but Starcraft and Age of Empires II are great games, I think they're fun at lan parties. Thing is, they only allow for a max of 8 players.. You can get a 4 v 4 going I guess

Other than that, I can't think of anything else that wasn't mentioned.

Except that you really need 12 players, 10 at the least.

BF2 - We have the game, but for some reason its not fun when theres 12 of us at most when playing. We havent found bots for multiplayer yet.
1nsane - ill write that down and see if i can find it.
Giants - I'll write that down as well.
Rainbow Six - I'll see if we can find some Rainbow six games from my friends.
WoW - Private server might actually work, do we have to set up one PC as decicated server?
Need for Speed - I'll see about that, i might get commented that driving games aint good on PC.
UT2k4 - Gotta buy that one when i have more extra cash.

We have played Warcraft 3 and Age of empires 2 some while ago, it was fun for a while, but after that many of us said it was getting boring... :(
Gotta try Starcraft though.

BF2 - *read above*
Need for speed - Gotta try that.
Medal of honor,Day of defeat,Wolfenstein - WW2 games are over-rated...
Americas Army - If i remember it correctly you need internet to play it. We dont have one over there.
Red orchestra - Dont remember what kind of game it is on the moment, we might try.
The specialist - Done that, once again not many of us were into it.
Natural selection - Doesnt work without steam... :(
Brainbread - Only i was willing to play it.

We have Doom 3, not fun in multiplayer, but we have to try that mod. Could actually be fun.

I believe it will still work if you make and then play it as one, might be a little laggy. I read that Blizzard doesn't care if you make a private server aslong everyone has a legit copy.

(I gotta find the source of that article before people bash me that its illegal.)

You probably need help installing it since... theres been false server pakages with trojans, etc. You will probably need the internet to connect to the server but I don't think once you're in the game you won't need connection to the internet but to the lan.

A little late, but I know that Supreme Commander can be made to run over LAN.
