Alright, i'm following mad axmans tut for 3ds max. I'm to the point where you drag the reference into the plane, so the picture is on the plance, when i do this, it does nothing.

side note, why whenever i use the 'select and move' tool, and try to move something does it crash?

edit... ok i got it to do something... when i drag it over, the plane turns grey.
but my picture isnt on there.

so follow the image i attatched in the tutorial (you should have asked this in that thread btw), and press the little button with a chequered cube.

i did press it, it just turned my plane grey,
