gl_spriteblend just wont stay!

Here is my problem. My hud always appears to be washed out. i know that gl_spriteblend 0 fixes this problem, but it always resets itself and i gotta type it in everytime i play the mod. making an autoexec.cfg or putting this in the userconfig.cfg doesn't help, because when i do this, the hud gets jacked up. when i say this, i mean the hud becomes all black and ugly. it only works when i type it in-game. please provide a solution

+gl_spriteblend 0 to your shortcut command line does the trick as well as changing it in your config.cfg and making it read only.
