SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television. Some People Are Stupid. Stuff. People I Can Do Without.

George Carlin, who died of heart failure Sunday at 71, leaves behind not only a series of memorable routines, but a legal legacy: His most celebrated monologue, a frantic, informed riff on those infamous seven words, led to a Supreme Court decision on broadcasting offensive language.

The counterculture hero’s jokes also targeted things such as misplaced shame, religious hypocrisy and linguistic quirks — why, he asked, do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Truly saddening, i considered him to be a great man.

Discuss.

RIP, you'll be missed. Remember, it's ok to say you pricked your finger, but you can't say you fingered your prick.

I remember him for all his comedy shows and random cameo appearances in movies.

I'll have to make a pilgrimage to his burial site and sacrifice a goat in his honor.

Another Legend ascends, one of the funniest people on the planet, too bad he didnt reach his goal of 94 years old.
R.I.P Mr.Carlin, you shall be missed

These links are from a 1 hour long Radio interview George Carlin did in 1999 on a radio talk show which I regulaly listen to, and occasionally so did George Carlin.
They replayed it last night in his honor.

one thing i wanted to see for many years, was a dual show with Richard pryor and George carlin, both comedians who played at things alot of others wouldnt have even touched at that time.

pryor passed a good time ago, and now carlins kicked the bucket too, I suppose I now have something to look forward to in the afterlife =D.

I can't remember the last time a celebrity I actually cared about passed away.

So long Rufus/Mr. Conductor/George, you truly will be missed.

My favorite comedian of all time... hopefully Lewis Black will kindly take the torch.
