Something small like a zip file?

alpha 2 is like old school yeah? so can i download that, then download an update?

Might be two problems,

1. I can't do that

or

2. It would be better off just downloading the 113MB FILE!!!!!

Thanks

unfortunately not. Even zipping it reduces it by around 5 megs...

My advice. Search for a download resume program. Then find a fileserver that does allow resuming.
Start the download early at night, then wake up in the morning.

or get a friend who has both broadband and a CD RW and let him burn it for you. I downloaded it at my high school and did that.

I know the pains of dial-up, I've got it too. But with ESF, you've got models, sounds, coding, and all sorts of nice stuff, so a large size is unavoidable.

there is this download manager that lets you do that i think its called "download boost" or something like that, its perfect for dial-up. and i was once in trap of the dreaded DIAL-Up [everyone has been there].

and the programme neoboy448 was on about its called Download Accelerator, and you can download it from here

(Its a very reliable programme, i used it when i had dial up, and i still use it now.I also use it much more than gozilla (i've found it simpler)

You can download it off kazaa so that way you can pause and download. It works fine if you leave it on all night when nobody calls.

problem with Kazaa is how easy it is to bind the installation file with a virus...

That's a path that you'd probably be better off not walking down.

i simply downloaded the update in a few hours with dial up, after which i didn't go on the internet for a few days to make up for my spent time.... when we had dial-up i was only allowed to be online for 1 hour a day :p
