Games similar to Pokemon

I'm looking for games that are similar in the Pokemon style. Going out and getting pet-things to fight for you.

I know of the Pokemon games and of Dragon Warrior Monster for the GBC.

Monster Rancher has you raising, breeding and training monsters, then having them fight against each other.

That's all that comes to mind right now, though.

Jade Cocoon on PS1, 3D RPG where you can catch, raise and breed different monsters (you can crossbreed species too). The sequel's even better (PS2).

I honestly can't think of anything, or atleast anything decent. If you want to wait a few months, they're releasing another pokemon game for the DS.

Keep an eye out for Spectrobes for the DS, it's still on the horizon but looks to be something special. Disney appear to be taking the games world seriously these days..

But see you actually control them and use different fighting moves as each. From Ryu/Goku like "Cyber Hero" to Gigantic Dragons, from Transformer like robots to gigantic battle ships.

I used to play but right now it has a stupid error and i can't play it anmore , something to do with the server.

another question:if you know about the awesome draon quest monster series why did you ever quit playing it?
(actually there isnt any better pokemon type game series out there)
ever played dragon quest monsters- taras adventure or cobis adventure on the gbc?
learn japanese and play dragon quest monsters -caravan heart on the gba
or wait for dragon quest monsters- joker for the nintendo ds
